Tamil Transliterator

This seems to be a good online utility to transliterate english to tamil. Whatmore, you can see the tamil version online and can copy down the tamil UNICODE version, directly. Pretty useful, if you dont have an editor with font write support.

I would prefer if someone sends me the link for word plugin where I can type transliterated text on tamil.

This is one of the best sites I have visited, especially those who want to master their vocabulary. This is an online Thesaurus, where you can get the synonyms of a given word. What more - it presents the result in a graphical view where you can go from one word to another improving your vocabulary like anything.

Recently came across this service of Google. This is a mail service packed up with a HUGE storage space of 1000MB !! This will be a vast storage space for any individual (provided he hasnt subscribed for various mail groups). He can use it for his life time.

Currently it is in experimental stage and signup is only on invitation. So once it is announced as a public service, we can expect a vast change in the way people view emails.

Recently came to know that Google is looking for volunteers to work on their Google translation project. Google is coming up with presenting local contents in different languages. Anybody can register to volunteer this service and start translating the google content to their local language. Currently if you subscribe, it asks you to translate small small contents to your native language. These contents will become the building block of the Local google site.

I found it to be an interesting project as it will help everyone to take Google - such a wonderful service to people who are proficient only in local languages. I would recommend any Indians and any Tamilians in particular to come up and start contributing. I already see a wonderful work going on and hats of to those who made it happen and those who are gearing up ...
